Óokal Mountains

The Óokal Mountainsh are the southernmost mountain range in Túlmikkía, located in the southeastern part of the continent where they form the boundary between Góak Forest to the south and the greater Karatvánamb Forest to the north. Compared to the latter regions, the mountains are sparsely populated due to the often harsh winters and foggy summers.
The name comes from the Vevúni tribes inhabiting the area of the Gnákan Savanna northwest of the mountains, which means Ivory Mountains, referring to the snowy peaks.

Fauna & Flora

The mountains are home to a number of different plants and animals, particularly at lower altitudes, with notable wildlife including lemmings, vultures, geese, rabbits, frogs and antelopes, many of which are endemic to the region. Local flora is mostly characterized by various conifers, shrubs, heather and tussock grass.
