Demographics
Defences
Most of Kilí is surrounded by relatively low but thick mud-brick walls, with towers at regular intervals and three heavily fortified gates. The gates and parts of the wall are decorated with glazed brick dye in blue, orange and red.
History
Kilí was originally a major city in Ilas, an ancient civilization ruled by Ilaxarans during bronze age, and later became capital of the þekkals after they invaded and conquered it at the end of that period. The city prospered as the þekkals developed an advanced irrigation system to better control the flow of water in the Namazús River, minimizing the destruction caused by floods and making gardens and orchards viable within the city walls.
After the dalrans conquered the city and moved the royal court there, Kilí has become a melting pot of ideas, artistic styles and people, and a center of commerce within the empire.

Architecture
Most of the buildings are built with mud-bricks, covered in clay and often brightly painted, and many sport decorative crenelations along the flat rooftops.
