Úxó

Úxó (dalríska)
Enmohó:
Úxó (eníska)

Úxó is the main city of Hemer, the northern county () of Nórlastó, the southern quarter (stó) of the empire of Dalra. It's located on in the eastern Zúdalikí Desert, by the coast of Úrtal Sea.

Demographics

Most of the inhabitants are Dalrans and Enans, along with small communities of Þekkals, Akalúrans and Húlpakrans.

Industry & Trade

Úxó is famed for its gold figurines showing deities, animals and people, both done in traditional stylized but detailed style as well as ones imitating dalran, orrólan, akalúran and húlpakran ones. Though the pottery there is not considered as fine the one made by akalúrans, it has a distinct look, imitating various types of shells found along the coast.

Infrastructure

The city is centered around the impressive Temple of Karanos, god of the sea, located roughly midway between the main gate and harbour, with the area outside the sacred precinct serving as Úxó's main market square. Opposite the temple is a sacred spring which provides the inhabitants with most of their water.

History

Like its ancient rival En to the north, Úxó is one of the oldest enan cities and among the most important. It's main colony was Darúx (modern Tarúsaxa) on the southwestern coast of Úrtal Sea, which not only had good access to wealthy cities of the Orrólans in northwestern Túlmikkía, but also rare plants and animals found on the Merr Islands between the two, as well as goldmines.
The people of Úxó joined Dalra peacefully after the dalran emperor Valrakates II sent huge supplies of food to the city as it faced starvation due to poor harvest and fishing.

Architecture

Most of the buildings are made of mud-bricks, with the Temple of Karanos being one of few structures featuring stone foundation and the only one built near entirely out of wood. The columns and outer walls of the temple are painted white, with decorative elements made of gold and turquoise, while the inner walls are lined with huge tapestries.
