Reach-1:
- A weapon with Range: Reach-1 adds +d to Melee Attacks made against targets with non-Reach weapons.
- A weapon with Range: Reach cannot be used to full effect when Engaged, instead it uses the profile for a Staff, except that it gains the Unwieldy trait.
Set Defence:
- When a charging enemy ends their Charge Move within the range of one or more fighters with Set Defence not engaged with any other enemies, one of those fighters makes a Melee Attack targeting that enemy. This attack gains +d for each other unengaged fighter with Set Defence within range of that enemy at any point during their Charge Move.
Unwieldy:
- This weapon is less ideal for defending against attacks. Decrease the difficulty of any melee attacks targeting the equipped model by -d, to a minimum of dd.
Secondary Axe-Head:
- A halberd's head is fitted with a Greataxe blade. While this is not usually as effective as a separate weapon, it allows the wielder to switch between damage types more easily than they could change weapons. They may make choose to make attacks with the secondary weapon at any time, but such attacks are made at -d, and gains this weapon's Reach-1 and Unwieldy qualities. This weapon cannot use its secondary head to make Set Defence attacks.
Piercing:
- This weapon can spend an additional a when it scores a Critical Hit to score a Piercing Critical Hit instead.
When equipped by a Military Unit a halberd is one of many kinds of Polearm, adding the benefits of Reach (+
d to Attacks against non-reach enemies; +
d to Defence checks against non-reach enemies) to its Melee Attacks as well as adding +
dd to Defence checks against Cavalry Charge attacks.
