Lyreanism
Influence
The Lyrean Pantheon consist of the most widely worshipped gods on Kaerinthe. Though their strongest Forums are based in the Orenmagne Empire, the Lyrean faith is also predominant in Fyluine and Sojun with its influence stretching far beyond. Originally founded by the prophet Kada Lyreas during the Dominion of Duragaon, followers and priests of the Lyrean gods delivered the people of Kaerinthe from the rule of Dragons, and set them on the path to self determination. This was the advent of Lyreanism as is currently practiced in Kaerinthe. Lyreanism was soon after adopted by the fledgling kingdom of Orenmagne that arose once the Dragons were either slain or driven off. Over the centuries, word of the Lyrean gods spread in tandem with the growth of the Orenmagne Empire, quickly being adopted by large parts of Odregoth, Casael, Linara, Sojun, and Fyluine. Lyreas is credited for uncovering and preserving knowledge of the Lyrean Gods and their existence, dating back thousands of years. The existence of each of the nine deities is substantiated by these ancient texts combined into The Book of Lyreas. The most established Forums, organized religious bodies, to the Lyrean gods tend to be based in Orenmagne.Sects
Today, multiple sects of Lyreanism exist across the continent:- Traditional Lyreanism (predominant in the Oren provinces of Orenmagne, Odregoth, and Casael)
- Stonemont Lyreanism (predominant in the Oren province of Linara)
- Fylen Lyreanism (predominant in Fyluine)
- One Path Lyreanism (predominant in Sojun)
Ideological Conflicts
The Lyrean Pantheon and Lyreanism as a whole stands in vehement opposition to The Far Gods, though some Forums tend to hold varying measures of disapproval for other faiths as well. The Far Gods: The Far Gods are what most in the Lyrean faith would consider deities of evil. Worship of the Far Gods is expressly outlawed in most Lyrean societies as it is across most nations of Kaerinthe. The Blank God: The Blank God, considers the Lyrean Pantheon's deities, like most deities, to be dead gods or lesser, non-divine entities. This causes a lot of disagreement between the two religions. The only reason they do not come to blows more often is the large distance between the societies in which they are practiced, and their shared hatred for the Far God and the Blank God's focus on combatting more heathenous forms of worship. The Greater Ether: The Lyrean Forums tend to view worship of greater ether and similar spirit worship as ignorant, holding that ethers are not divinity, just discrete creations of real divine entities. Even so, some Lyreans have taken to ether worship in addition to their Lyrean faith in recent decades, much to the consternation of the high Forums. The Underkind: Lyrean faith takes issue with the Underkind, viewing their worship of Suule to be disturbing, and some of their follower's zealous pursuit of necromancy and ethermods to be dangerous. The Forums of Berath tend to take great issue with the Underkind faith, while Forums of Elleroc tend to be welcoming of the followers of Wadain. Even so, war tensions with Hjoldren have intensified mistrust of the Underkind faith as well. The Fallen: The Lyrean Forums tend not to pay much attention to The Fallen as their followers only seem to exist in the frontier territory of Vilyen. Even so, Lyreans tend to treat followers of The Fallen with suspicion and concern, considering it a strange religion.
