Eisabinus Catbalus
This is a high political title in the Calpian Empire. The leader of the Catbalus is called the Eisabinus Catbalus.
Requirements
Must have served at least one term as an Eibar̂um. Traditionally, only those who have been the Senior Eibar̂um stand for election to Eisabinus Catbalus, but there is no law prohibiting someone who was the Junior Eibar̂um from election.
Appointment
Upon the death or retirment of the previous Eisabinus Catbalus, those eligible Eitccatbalum who wish to hold the office put themselves forward and the entire Catbalus votes. If no individual wins a majority of votes, the individual receiving the fewest votes is removed from the slate and a new round of voting commences. This process continues until one candidate wins more than half the votes.
Duties
This officeholder must defend the dignity of the Catbalus of Calpi. Their primary duty is to retain its reputation with the general populace, though the aristocracy understands the body is a puppet of the R̂oldavum.
Responsibilities
The Eisabinus Catbalus is responsible for setting the agenda of the Catbalus. As a result, they have outsized influence in the promulgation of laws and the selection of certain appointed offices.
The are also responsible for acting as an advisor to and liaison for the R̂oldavum.
