Rel Eteisus (Rell Eh-tay-sus)

Fallen to Fate

Rel Eteisus is the son of a deceptive relationship between Mitos and Fei Invaru. While he took more to his father in godhood, his mother (and grandfather, Chaimut) kept him in solitude. He grew to hate his mother and grandfather and thrived off of the few stories regarding Mitos that Fei would tell him. Lamenting her son's views of her, she tried to show him the kindness of seeing Laminarum, which he promptly used to escape their clutches.   How he fell into devilhood is unknown, with many believing he drank from the corrupted Waters of Taev or met with Taev itself (though this is a misconception of how the Waters work). Regardless, he eventually fell into league with the devils and brought war to Laminarum, almost leaving it open to the Uthuquate and Ithitari invasion. He was slain by Ygaul and Mitos, who worked in tandem. Rel Eteisus was buried beneath the crags of Gelvast, according to legend, where his dormant body remains to this day.

Modern Influence

Few cults dedicate themselves to Rel Eteisus due to his status as an honorary Ithitar. A relatively new organization (ca. 1947 NG) works in good graces with the Snow Rock Isles to perform "containment rituals" at Gelvast. Hopefully, the organization will be able to prevent the awakening of Rel Eteisus and in doing so prevent the mountain's eruption.   When observing groups on the questionable side of society, perspectives on Rel Eteisus vary. Many use his original Ohdaufeen status as an excuse to worship devils: an ideology known as the "Rel Eteisus Exemption." While such beliefs are slowly being stamped out, groups throughout northern Trinen still argue in courts that the honorary Ithitar deserves reverence (in part so that fate remains on humanity's side).

Domain of Fate

Rel Eteisus controls the domain of fate: a dangerous fire to meddle with. Luckily, the natural flow of fate is generally uninterrupted since Rel was put into hibernation. Occasions of his influence do occur, as tsunamis, volcanic eruptions, and earthquakes are all influenced by Rel's rage. Truly, no god can be permanently silenced and Rel Eteisus won't rest until Laminarum has suffered as he has.

A Shared Prison

During The Silence, The Serpent's tear in the web was sealed. When invasions of the Ithitar continued, it was entirely removed from the greater universe. For years, communion with gods between Laminarum and the other planes was impossible. As of 1947 NG, interplanar travel is still impossible. However, gods and their servants within Laminarum are still entirely capable of providing power and interaction with mortals. Rel Eteisus, like all mortals, is also imprisoned within a lost Laminarum.
