The newly formed party of Gle'n, Hex, Kai, Khev, Mak, and Snell answered a quest post about a pest control problem; a den of giant poisonous snakes had gotten into magic coffee. What they discovered was a Yuan-Ti transformed into a monstrous Malison. When they brought her to the Temple of Trickery for aid they inadvertently answered another quest post -- to capture the Abomination that made the Malison.

They met the kobold's interrogator, Gle'n's psionic son Gob, and stealthily followed him to listen in on a meeting with their boss Crimson Masters. Crimson wanted the kobold to lead them back to where he found the book to get them another one; Darryl Berry's lost third journal. "Ah," Crimson confirmed from the kobold, "Hornswoggle."

But that night the party discovered where it was hiding; in the undercroft of the downtown nightclub built out of an ancient temple, Club World Tree.
