Rock Rose Coffeehouse
Purpose / Function
The Rock Rose Coffeehouse is a popular hangout for both university students and the well off-set of the first and second neighborhoods. It's built in the middle of Sunflower Lake at the cross-section of The TriGlitter Bridge. Its original proprietor was Lizzi Jurgen, and her great-grandchildren still run the shop to this day. It serves coffee from the southern isles, tea from the Dogleaf forests, and house-made pastries and soda creations. It is not unusual to wait up to a half-an-hour to get inside the shop first thing in the mornings, with the line running down the second district's side of the TriGlitter Bridge.
At night, the coffeehouse becomes the main hangout for university students, all gathered on the outside porches to listen to the live music and drink alcoholic versions of their morning drinks.
Architecture
The Rock Rose Coffeehouse is a round-shaped building built in the Thousand Arches Neighborhood District style with large iron-barred, arched windows. It is surrounded by a square-covered porch on all sides, available for additional seating, and on weekends, live music will usually be played on the porch. It is famous for its rose-colored domed roof and golden cupola that is featured on the rose gold foil logo on all their products.
History
The Rock Rose Coffeehouse was built to commemorate the 100th birthday of The TriGlitter Bridge. From the beginning, it has been a beloved addition to the area and a popular attraction for people coming from outside the area.
