The Betrayer Feyrith Elro

Feyrith Elro was an Elf most prominently known for betraying Sora Anzai during the War of the Nine Hells, stabbing her with Metorus and breaking her Cardinal Urn, leading to the Shou-Elvish Wars and the failure to expel the influence of the Nine Hells on Materia.

Betrayal

Little is known about Feyrith's motivations for his betrayal. Previously acting as a prominent leader and mage amongst the Elves during the War of the Nine Hells, his sudden betrayal doomed Sora Anzai's plan for repelling hellish influences on Materia, and was extremely unexpected by even Sora herself.
Sora slew Feyrith on the spot, but the damage was done. In retribution, Shou humans began to slaughter Elves, beginning a long and bloody conflict between Humans and Elves for control of the Elven homeland (now the Shou Empire).

Legacy

Feyrith's name is completely synonymous with the meaning of "traitor". Perhaps one of the most infamous figures in Human and Elvish countries, his betrayal and subsequent drama have been the subject of speculation and countless adaptations by artists and playwrights. These dramatic depictions are especially common in Ascalon, and his sword has been wielded by a variety of popular figures in Ascan history. Feyrith's dramatization and place in popular culture is seen as being in poor taste by some, especially by Elves and the humans of the Shou Empire.
