Materia 09: "Heir of Winter"
General Summary
Yvri leaves the party temporarily with Licina Laeneus on an unclear errand. Testifying before the royal council of the Shou Empire, the remaining party reveals their quest and defends Hanako's reputation; the Cardinal Shard of Envy is located in Hanzo's possession.
Mari and Nicolas meet by chance with a suspicious Cardinal Sinner of Pride they suspect to be Aiwin Thedan as Hanako covertly meets Kazuyuki in the Saint's Dojo. Screams echo as Hanako and Kazuyuki are found slain mid-coitus by Ransley, who takes the much-sought Ring of Wishes. Resurrected, Kazuyuki and Hanako are bound ever closer by life and death.
