Slumbering Islands

A scattering of islands throughout the seven seas, they are a cornucopia of different environments, ecosystems, lifestyles, belief systems, and inhabitants. From an outsider's point of view, one could see each island as a different kind of paradise. For the denizens, however, each paradise can feel like a cage or a prison. The world of the islands is so small, compared to the vast continents of adventure in every direction. As a result, many islanders become restless to leave the islands and explore the world.
The vast amount of variety within each island produces unique wonders, people, magics, creatures, etc. When someone sees something they've never seen before, a common assumption is that it must come from one of the islands.
