A Squadron is a
combat group of players formed to conduct
Missions and other
Activities with tactical flexibility. Players can create or join Squadrons of up to three total members.
All members of a Squadron are considered allies and cannot be injured by friendly fire. Should a player leave a Squadron, they remain unable to damage their previous squadmates for at least 60 seconds to prevent instant betrayal.
Loot
When loot is dropped from certain enemies, it is free for any player to acquire with the exception of anything that is automatically
Bound to a specific player, such as
Quest items.
Forming a Squadron
Players can create Squadrons in several ways. They can send an invitation to another player or join a Squadron through the Directory in a
Safe Zone. The player sending the invitation becomes the Squadron Leader if other players join their group.
Joining another Squadron that is not in the same instance already will remove a player from whatever activity and location they are in, moving them to the Squadron Leader who sent the invitation with one exception: players who are actively in an
Open Sector Expeditions cannot join another Squadron that is not in their immediate instance and must
Extract first.
Squadron Leader
Squadron Leaders can load into Missions as a complete team where each member will spawn in simultaneously. However, if an invitation is sent to another player that is not currently in the same instance already, they may only join a player after the Squadron Leader has placed a Homing Signal.
Homing Signals
Homing Signals are items that all players have access to. These beacons are planted into the ground, sending out a beam of light into the sky. This light is how allies are able to locate their squadmates and load in to meet them. Once a beacon has been placed, a squadmate can launch their injection pod to the beacon.
It is important to be cautious when using Homing Signals.
Enemies are drawn to these beacons and will aggressively target them. Additionally, other players in the area can often see the beacon’s light beam, making them
particularly dangerous.
A message is also posted to all player’s
Local Chat stating that a Homing Signal has been placed and marking the general area on their maps.
Squadron Benefits
Forming a Squadron and playing with teammates has several benefits. Perhaps most importantly, allies have the ability to revive. If a player is
critically injured, their squad mates can come to the rescue and save them from
death.
Additionally, by being in a Squadron, individual player’s
Talents are activated. These Talents apply benefits to everyone in the party based on what each player has chosen for their
Attributes. These perks range from increased damage to
bonus XP and more.
Once the Talent skill is unlocked from the
Upgrade Tree, it is in effect whenever a player is part of a Squadron. Talents affect all players in a group and each will benefit from every character's individual Talents. A player’s Talent is chosen automatically by their Attribute with the highest point investment at a given time. If two Attributes have equal amounts, the Attribute that was upgraded most recently becomes the default Talent.
