East Dire Company
The East Dire Company is a colony of The Empire of Man and is located in The Dire on the Ur continent.
Founded by Empress Jadwiga around the year 3183 AC, the East Dire Company has served as a hub of trade, influence and infomation for the empire. The East Dire Company has remained an important asset to the empire since it's founding.
The East Dire Company were responsible for the discovery of refined dwarven gun making techniques and then sharing it with the empire, as before this, anything that used gunpowder was immensely expensive, leaving it as only a last ditch effort or a sign of wealth and power, never could it be massed produced, until this discovery. Rare minerals, artifacts, weapons, technology, and individuals unique to Ur, are seen as rare overseas items, and the East Dire Company is in charge of obtaining them for their Imperial customers.
The East Dire Company reached it's greatest extent during the rule of Emperor Sigismund the Colonizer, encompassing all of The Dire and more into their lands.
The East Dire Company is an important nation that is greatly involved in the affairs of Aedorica and Ur. They control international trade in the east and are involved in many other nations, with established bases in each. Although the East Dire Company is a colony of the empire, it is near independent in it's rule, it decides much of it's own rules, laws and the majority of things in government, the people of the East Dire Company wish to remain within the empire, despite them being almost entirely self-reliant, they wish to keep to their lineage. But since the Bloody War, the rise in independence movements is the highest it's ever been.
