Hessmark
Hessmark, officially the Grand Principality of Hessmark, but sometimes called the "South March," is an Imperial Province of the Empire that was a founding province. It lies at the southlands of The Empire of Man.
As the homeland of the ancient tribe of the Uclès in Sieghardt- God Emperor's time, the territories of Hessmark, often referred to as the Empire's "South March," is considered a highly fertile if sometimes hostile landscape.
This is because Hessmark is the Southern frontier of the Empire, surrounded on three sides by the The Acades, violent tribes of the Dunbad and the Aurum Mountain. Neverthless, the people of Hessmark are a valiant breed, and through their determination, Hessmark has survived the onslaught of many invasions that has followed since its founding.
Dyre is a patron warrior god of the empire and in the days of Sieghardt was the most followed god. The Cult of Dyre is centred on the region. The grand Temple of Dyre is a wonder of the city that attracts pilgrims from all the realms. As the the home of the White Wolf God, Hessmark is also known as the land of the White Wolf.

Culture
Hessmark has long been an avenue for conquest, whether by invaders attacking the Empire or Imperial armies on the march to the Dunbad. Originally settled by a minor tribe of the ancient Uclès tribe, Orcs, Goblins,Trolls, and Beastfolk have frequently raided Hessmark in the days before Sieghardt- God Emperor founded the Empire.
Stout defenders of their homes and fortified villages, the Uclès learned to value cooperation between their clans, realising that they were stronger together than apart. This made them open to Sieghardt- God Emperor's call for unity among the Men of what would become the Empire, and the Uclès contributed a mighty force of axe-men to the army that fought at the Krum Mountains against the Gluk Blood-Axe.
Ostermarkers tend to be stout and thickset, and their eyes often reveal an Southern heritage. Their men are given to wearing long, thick moustaches rather than beards, and a high-peaked fur hat replaces the more fashionable floppy headgear found elsewhere in the Empire. Women wear their hair loose if single, or in a long braid wound up at the back of the head if married.
Because of the cold weather in the province, Hessmarkers tend to wear several layers of clothing in a style that seems quaint or old-fashioned to others in the Empire. At their best, Hessmarkers are vibrant souls, with a love of life, horses, vodka, and dancing. Their women in particular are known for their quick tempers and passionate nature.

Disbandment
Between the year 5433 and 5437 AC, Hessmark, once a flourishing imperial province, faced an unprecedented and catastrophic onslaught. The Orc Overlord Waaagh!, driven by an insatiable desire for the destruction of civilization, directed his wrath upon Rodinia and after decimating the other nations, he made his way towards the empire, and he personally marched into the southlands after uniting the tribes in the Dunbad, Hessmark was met with unmatched ferocity. As his fanatical orc armies swept across the land, they transformed the province into an unrecognizable wasteland. The once thriving cities and towns were reduced to rubble, their inhabitants slaughtered or driven into despair. The fertile fields of Hessmark, once a breadbasket of the empire, were desolated, leaving the land barren and lifeless. Emperor Ragenardus III's forces would later defeat Waaagh!, but Hessmark, Triaus and most of Hochland were reduced to unhospitalable wastelands.
