The Tinker

Human god of artifice, architecture and construction.

The Tinker

The strengthening of city walls
Protect us as our city falls
With clockwork golem arsenals
We can hear the Tinker calls.
Build like the Tinker can build,
Forged of stone and Forged of Will,
Pragmatic and functional,
To the Garden we will go.
The Tinker's verse from The Song of the Eight.

Divine Domains

The Tinker's alignment is Lawful Neutral, and his portfolio includes artifice, architecture and contruction. His cleric domains are Artifice, Construct, Defense, Fire, Fortifications, Industry, Metal, Protection, Rune and Strength, and his favoured weapon is the Light Hammer.   As one of the Eight Human gods, his followers expect to go to the Garden Beyond the Stars when they die, although it is uncertain whether he will be there to meet them in the Garden. Since the Eight are less personal than the Survivor deities, it is unclear whether they reside in the Garden themselves or merely guide their followers to it without any form of personal interaction.

Divine Symbols & Sigils

Tarot - The Tinker
In the Palimpsest Tarot, the Tinker constellation corresponds to the first card in the Profane Eight Suit, called the Creator Profane. It represents the concept of Construction.   Tinker imagery is often associated with the theme of building: from the sacred cedar tree, which is a sturdy building material to the holy symbol of a hammer. The Tinker's sacred animal is the ant, which is known for its ability to build complex structures that house a whole colony. And each Brickmas, elaborate gingerbread towers are meticulously constructed so that they will hold their shape without the use of icing.

Divine Goals & Aspirations

The Tinker values the functional and pragmatic. His favoured heroes tend to be artificiers, scientists and alchemists whose creations and inventions will last and serve a purpose.
