Despite never needing official employment, Castor is expected to fulfill his "spare" noble duties, which include promoting House Stargazer's interests in knowledge and research and regularly attending court. While he is adept at the astrological studies he undertakes at his brother's observatory, Castor struggles with the social expectations of nobility.
When Castor and Hugo were dating, they helped each other navigate the tangled diplomatic web of the second court, covering up for each other's slips. However, since being forbidden from interacting with Hugo, Castor prefers to keep a low profile, generally keeping his head down and talking little.

Although their marriage was conducted under unpleasant circumstances, both Castor and Cassiopeia are very sweet to each other. Castor may not feel any romantic attraction towards his wife, and neither are interested in the other sexually, but they are good friends and love each other. They look after each other in what can be a very dangerous court.

History
For two years, the teen "spare" sons of the Dargent and Stargazer households were engaged in a secret relationship. When they were discovered, it caused a scandal in court, and severely damaged the diplomatic relations between their two houses. Castor Stargazer was rushed into a marriage with the half-orc Subvizier of the Greentusk Family, while Hugo Dargent's older brother, Victor, was forced to marry the Subvizier of the Laureat Family in Hugo's stead.
