KillMedia AKArena: DethCity LBN
An AutoKill Arena focused on prison themed automotive DethSports, based in the largest prison complex in the PBA, the Labour Banishment Nexus.
A significant coup for the LBN was to secure a hosting deal with the KillMedia brand.
LBN houses some of the most lethal and talented AutoKillers in the PBA. KillMedia selects the finest drivers and weapons experts, forming leagues of lethal dream teams. They manipulate gang rivalries and personal vendettas from InSide and OutSide the LBN to create tense narratives fought over bloody seasons, the culmination of which is the DethCity1000.
Events broadcast from LBN, branded 'DethCity LBN' on the KillMedia ThoughtCast network, pull in the largest planet wide viewing figures, making live events broadcast exclusively to The Fury a big pull for leisure tourists, travelling across the globe in search of exclusivity. LBN's surveillance saturation enables race coverage from a bewildering array of angles. KillMedia subsidises a significant portion of the LBN’s operational costs, although Guvn0r, the Synt in charge of LBN has yet to disclose how much.
Due to its mostly gridded street plan, a multitude of different racing circuits can be drawn within DethCity. Many dip into subterranean AKArenas and raceways, some even venture into the waterlogged marshes outside the gigantic prison BlastWalls, a tantalising taste of damp freedom for any InMates racing the track. When the GigaCity is being used for an event, all areas visible to InMates are screened off entirely, preventing any undeserved joy or excitement corrupting their re-education.
The one exception to this rule is the DethCity1000, the largest event hosted in The Filth. The race takes place over a 1000 mile circuit within the LBN infrastructure, algorithmically generated every cycle. InMates are encouraged to jeer, throw projectiles, hurl each other in to the path of oncoming vehicles, and voluntarily bring forward their own euthanasia by brawling on the raceway. Track side seating areas devoid of protective screens and barriers are placed on dangerous corners and in fire corridors for added broadcast value. These are packed with InMates who are allocated their seat as either punishment or reward depending on their psychological profile. The risks are generally considered a small price to pay for the gaudy show of colourful lasers, explosions and viscera due to the restricted exposure to colour of any kind that InMates of the LBN endure. Illicit recordings by those who survive audience participation are highly valued. The FED maintain a regular security presence releasing ‘impartial’ vehicles, from armed camera drones to armoured RoadTrains. These assets are deployed to maintain ratings, sway outcomes and pursue any attempted escapes. Senior FED operatives have also been known to take to the track, typically in vastly superior, specially commissioned vehicles. They revel in taking on multiple low value targets and making examples of underperforming contestants whilst publicly relishing the opportunity to settle personal differences with specific InMates. Spectacularly lethal traps and hazards are scattered throughout the course. Many are integrated InMate security measures such as BubbleBlock cannons and hypnotic McOlor screens at dangerous intersections. FliPads capable of launching contestants over HabLocks, walls of whirling blenders repurposed from Flude refineries and holographic Tube entrances are just some of KillMedia’s staple crowd pleasers added to the mix. The extra gore, drama and spectacle generated by these features cements the DethCity1000 as one of the premier events in the AutoKill calendar.

Culture
The DethCity tournaments are a fundamental element of InMate culture and identity. AutoKill provides the only sphere of life within LBN where fully armed and lethal vehicle combat is permitted. InMates selected to compete are able to wage war on their enemies, taking special pleasure in victories against rivals on rival territory.
Guvn0r has observed an alarming trend of persistent NonComps cells attempting to infiltrate, highjack and sabotage DethCity events. Coordinated NonComp entrants have turned their vehicles against FED assets, breached track boundaries and occasionally made successful breaks for ‘freedom‘.
The DethCity LBN AKArena enjoys an impressive reputation amongst the criminal organisations of the PBA.
Fearsome gangs send their toughest initiates, disgraced drivers and psychotic crew on spectacular crime sprees horrendous enough to ensure them LBN residency. Once processed as InMates, their only hope is to earn freedom through victory in the LBN’s AutoKill leagues while promoting their gangs notoriety in what is considered to be one of the most brutal AKArenas in current service. Their ultimate goal is participation and glory in the DethCity 1000, those that succeed return as both venerated underworld legends and AutoKill Arena Aces, (a frequently complication for HyperCorp sponsorship deals).
Assets
LBN is home to a number of renowned combat vehicle marques manufactured within its ResIndustrial Estates. Marques such as BullDog and PlugCat are responsible for countless designs regarded as classics across the PBA, from budget three wheeler bubble cars to super heavily armoured luxury vehicles. These brands are in constant and bitter competition, vying for the rights to supply their latest flagship models to the best seeded contestants across the DethCity leagues. On the track brands rely on iconic vehicle aesthetics for identity, the lack of pigments within LBN preventing coloured livery. Plain schemes with identifying letters and numbers are effective and common in the lower leagues. Geometric, high-contrast monochrome patterns used as dazzle camouflage are often adopted for high performance models.
The marques colossal ResIndustrial facilities are home to some of the most feared manual labourer teams in the leagues. These mechanical specialists proudly compete in DethCity events with insanely upgraded heavy maintenance vehicles supported by bikers smashed on productivity enhancing Chemix.
Corps and Synts from beyond LBN willingly pay a hefty premium to test drive experimental prototypes in the DethCity AKArena, providing a high profile test bed of unforgiving courses and notorious InMate competition. The colourless, comparatively low spec opposition ensures healthy prototype performance in front of the camera. On the rare occasion when an InMate beats a prototype, they are customarily offered the position of Corp test pilot.
