The Queen of Red Ashes births Rumours like leaves falling from a Tree. She has been rumoured to be seeking a personal Union with every King you could name; including improbably some to the South. She has been said to commune directly with the Gods, the Fates and Mimir. They say she has made a bargain with Hel to deliver to her the spirits of non-believers in exchange for being invincible in battle. They say she marries no Man because only a God would be found worthy in her eyes. They say she is with Child by Baldur, or Thor or Loki. Through all these rumours though they say that her time of consolidation is at an end, and that she is a sword freshly sharpened and unsheathed and none know where she will strike.
Jarl Selibold Hensendottir (a.k.a. Queen of Ashes)
The so-called ‘Queen of Red Ashes’. The tales say that after her father, the former Jarl Hensen, died, she rose up her own blade against any who would challenge and threw down all comers, earning the right to stand as queen. She is favoured of the gods and speaks much of the old ways, her land one that the faithful journey to knowing they will find succour. She is a vaunted foe of the religious faiths of the south and east, and it is her burning of ‘false’ gods and tearing down of effigies, or burning of priests and infidels that has earned her name. After Jarl Hacan, she may be one of Jarl Magnus’ targets, though only a fool would think she will fall easily.

Motivation
While she has the myriad motivations of any Jarl, she is open about her desire to restore the dominance of the Gods in the Veld and extinguish 'false practices'.

Contacts & Relations
Her Lands directly Border Bjornkarl's and Jarl Svald lands and she has had some conflicts with both, though nothing overt. She has been consolidating her power for years, but prompts much raiding and trading with the southern Lands. She has nothing but disdain for Olof and Hakan, and though she respects what Magnus has done, she see’s in him the most debased Spirit. The Gods demand his death she feels, and she will be happy to deliver.
Religious Views
She is a firm follower of the Aesir and Vanir , and a violent defender of the Gods, the Gods place in society and the rituals that surround these practices. She is seen as Zealous even by other believers, but her place as Jarl puts her almost above reproach. She believes herself to be a chosen of the gods, Freyja in particular, and much bears out this possibility. It has made her very hard, however, and she brokes very little dissension in Matters of the Gods.
