Majjia
Majjia also known as Nivāha or the promised land, is a lush, vibrant planet with diverse landscapes, including forests, mountains, and vast oceans. The Planet is said to have been created by the nature gods at the request of Veta, the goddess of Life, Majjia.
Geography
As previously noted, Majjia has a total of 8 continents; Amity, Amor, Akita, Lycia, Epithet, Eisis, Icarus, and Yanli. Let's delve into each of these landmasses for a closer look
Amity
Amity is Majjia’s second largest continent and is located in the western hemisphere of Majjia. There are three major mountain ranges within Amity’s borders; Bloody Mountains in the south-west, Heller Mountains in the north, and the Rosewood mountains in the east. The winds of Amity are very strong but large storms and extreme weather aren’t frequent. Seas to the south and north of Amity are very difficult to traverse while the seas to the west and east are gentle. There are only two nations located on Amity; Archangeli controlling the western half and Bellum controlling the east.Amor
Amor is Majjia’s smallest continent and is located within a tropical region making it very warm. It is very far from any tectonic boundaries, making earthquakes rare. Amor does not have any large mountains or volcanoes. Winds are strong and large storms and extreme weather is common. The seas to the west and east of Amor are rough while seas to the north and south are calm. Amor is home to an abundance of creatures and plants but only a tiny number of them can only be found in Amor. Amor is also home to the kingdom of the same name.Akita
Akita is a large continent with only one side landing on a tectonic boundary. The eastern edge of the land forms large mountainous ridges. Akita has 5 active volcanoes and several dormant ones. The western half of Akita doesn’t get earthquakes often. WInds are wild and large storms and extreme weather is common. The seas to the west and south are rough and the seas to the north and south are calm. Akita is home to a total of five different nations; Cyeys in the north west, Hibedi in the south west, Lyna in the north east, Mstoe in the south east, and finally the kingdom of Umbra in central Akita.Lycia
Lycia is a nice sized continent that sits almost entirely within the polar region of Majjia. Lycia is geologically calm with little tectonic activity; the tallest mountains are little more than hills. Lycia has no volcanic activity and does not experience any earthquakes. The seas surrounding Lycia are calm and there are a small number of unique plants and animals. Lycia is home to the kingdom of Sanguinem.Epithet
Epithet is a moderately sized continent that sits close to a tectonic plate: the north east features a large mountain range. Epithet has multiple dormant volcanoes and power earthquakes are frequent. Strong wind with large storms and extreme weather is the norm. Seas to the west and south are hard to traverse while seas to the east and north are gentle. Epithet is home to five nations; the kingdom of Filli Luna in the north west, the kingdom of Gōrado in central east Epithet, the kingdom of Ignis in the south west and Astri in the north east, and Abigers in the south east.Eisis
Eisis is a small continent that is located completely within a temperate region and sits close to the edge of a tectonic plate; The north-west has a few mountain ranges and some provincial canyons and valleys. Eisi has weak winds so large winds and extreme weather is uncommon. Seas to the north and east are treacherous while seas to the west and south are calm. Eisis is home to seven different nations; The kingdom of Terre in central Eisis, the kingdom of Seikatsu in the north east, Iptla in the south east, Acep in central north Eisis, Kamila in central east, Or’or in the south west, and Vokeye in the north west.Icarus
Icarus is Majjia’s largest continent and sits completely within the polar region of Majjia and lies over a tectonic boundary; South east edge features a moderately sized mountain range and some prominent canyons and valleys. Icarus does not experience many earthquakes. Winds are calm and large storms and extreme weather is rare. Seas around Icarus are generally calm. Icarus is home to a large variety of creatures and plants. Icarus is home to the kingdom of Septentrionalis.Yanli
Yanli is a moderate sized continent that lies over a tectonic boundary; the south-west is separated by an expansive mountain ridge and many deep canyons and valleys. Yanli has 24 active volcanoes and several dormant ones. Yanli has powerful winds so large storms and extreme weather is the norm. The seas around Yanli are usually treacherous. Yanli is home to a large variety of creatures and plants. Yanli is home to a colony of the kingdom of Kaichū Ni known as Neptunea.Fauna & Flora
Majjia's diverse flora plays a significant role in the planet's ecosystems and holds great cultural and practical value. Plants like the Mori Tree and Lunar Tree are central to Draylian culture and are often found around temples and in graveyards due to their associations with deities like D'Mai, the goddess of death, and the twin moon goddesses, Sran Kay and Sran Kai. The Mori Tree, with its sturdy roots and distinctive copper-colored bark, and the Lunar Tree, known for its fan-like leaves and oblong fruit, are revered in religious rituals and frequently used in crafting sacred items like altars and magical tools. Other planets, such as the Blue Savage shrub and Blood Flower, also plays significant roles in the environment and local practices. Blue Savage bears an amber colored fruit with a bitter skin and sweet flesh that is used in a wide array of dishes and even a few drinks. While Blood Flower, despite its nomally poisonous nature can be used for medicinal purposes under specific circumstances. A grass known as Stow Grass is used to produce vibrant green dyes and is a common sight in large fields. Similarly, Flame Moss, a bright yellow moss is often found in bogs and damp forests.
The Moons
Majjia has two moons known as Selina and Imperia, which are the most important celestial objects outside of the sun. Selina has a cycle of approximately 29.5 Earth days while Selina has a cycle of approximately 45 Earth days (distinct from Selina due to its smaller size and orbital characteristics). A unique event occurs when Selina and Imperia cross in front of each other in the sky as viewed from Majjia, causing a combined shadow effect. This results in a visually striking celestial event where parts of Selina may obscure Imperia and vice versa, creating a magnificent display. These synchronous eclipses happen approximately once every 12 lunar cycles of Selina, roughly once every 354 Earth days, depending on the alignment of their orbits.Selina
Selina is a large moon, similar in size to Earth’s moon, with a diameter of about 4,700 kilometers. Its surface is rocky, with a combination of dusty plains and craggy highlands. The terrain is punctuated by impact craters, which create an adventurous landscape for exploration. The rocky surface of Selina is a palette of muted colors, ranging from soft grays to gentle blues. Selina has a thin atmosphere that creates a soft, misty haze enhancing its mystical aura. Its gravitational influence is crucial for stabilizing the tides on Majjia, contributing to a balanced and nurturing environment. Selina is often referred to as “Sran Kay’s Playground” representing the joy and wonder of childhood. Festivals held in her honor are filled with music, dance, and storytelling, celebrating dreams, innocence, and the magic of childhood. People gather at night to share tales of adventure and wonder, looking up at Selina as a symbol of freedom and exploration. The moon is also associated with the nurturing aspects of nature, encouraging a connection to the world around them. The presence of Selina in the night sky is a source of inspiration for poets, artists, and dreamers alike.Imperia
Imperia is a smaller, icy moon, approximately 3,500 kilometers in diameter, making it about 80% the size of Earth’s moon. Its surface is characterized by vast expanses of frozen water and large ice formations, with deep crevasses that hint at the presence of a subsurface ocean. The surface of Imperia is marked by shimmering ice plains and bright, reflective craters that catch and scatter the light from Majjia’s sun, making it appear exceptionally luminous in the night sky. This reflective quality contributes to its association with Sran Kai, as it embodies the calm yet striking presence of the night. Beneath its icy crust lies a mysterious subsurface ocean, which is believed to harbor unique forms of life. The ocean is kept in a liquid state by geothermal heat emanating from the moon's core. The inhabitants of Majjia often refer to Imperia as “Sran Kai's Mirror,” reflecting her calm yet powerful nature. The moon plays a significant role in the rituals honoring Sran Kai, particularly during ceremonies dedicated to magic and desire. The light of Imperia is seen as a guiding force for those seeking clarity in their intentions, embodying the quiet and introspective nature of the goddess. Imperia influences the night sky of Majjia, creating a stark contrast with Selina. During certain times of the year, its bright light can overshadow the stars, becoming a focal point for nighttime activities and gatherings. The moon’s ethereal glow is often celebrated in festivals that honor magic, connecting practitioners to the mysterious powers of the cosmos.
