The Great Deep

The Great Deep is the huge ocean that encircles all of The Known World. None have travelled across it's expanse and returned to tell the tale, and what lies beyond, if anything, can only be guessed at.
The Great Deep is a dark green in colour and an incredibly violent place, it's waters churned by huge storms as the ocean floor sinks to unknown depths.
There are tales about what lies beyond the Deep of course. Some say that the edge of the world lies there, and the waters tumble off the edge drifting down into space. Others insist that a huge, unclimbable wall of ice encircles the ocean. Another common theory is that the entire world is encased in some giant glass dome, into which the gods peer down for their amusement.
Whatever the truth of the matter, it remains one of the great mysteries.
