Assets

The whole The People's Tower in The Kingdom of Adair is the impressive structure that is not only the majority of the Kingdom's domain but the building that holds all it's industries and citizens who are famous outside of the country.

History

As Opal Adair continued to look over the production of The People's Tower in The Kingdom of Adair as the managing investor, by 2035 she feared that governance would have to be instilled to keep the investment in the hands of the families she felt were brave enought to invest. Since Opal had invested the largest portion of funds, and it was clear her daughter Penelope was intersted in helping her see this situtaion to fruition, she felt that a line of succession with her family in the lead was fair. She knew that she would have to convince the other big contributors to this. Soon nine other prominent investors wanted to push the idea of instilling the governance prior to the completion to the People's Tower.
In 2038, a vote from the (then) shareholders about the future structure of governance of not only the funds but the totality of hte People's Tower was held. With 56% of the shareholders voting for the pursuit of monarchy, Opal Adair was named the Queen of the People's Tower. Immediately, the shareholders she had cultivated to help estalibh her reign were named "Level Lords" based on their stated interests with the development of the People's Tower. She offered to other shareholders the remaining spots. Some did take. Others sold their stakes, offended by the poltical tactics used.
Opal passed on her reign to her daughter Penelope in 2040, three years before she would end up passing away. By the time Penelope took over the monarchal duties, there were no longer shareholders, but future Level Lords. This included the Waste Level Lord of Fred Trahan, founder of Trahan Waste Authority. Penelope found herself ruling over her subjects beofre they were established as what she had named the Kingdom of Adair to honor her mother. Penelope also established the matriarchal lineage, merely to "give one to women in the history books."
Penelope was lauded for her innovative solutions for tyring to contain the necessary services for a large city in such a unprecedented super-structure. However, her background in Urban Planning and Sustainable Engineering ensured her mother's legacy. Looking to the future, she made sure all three of her daughters studied and understood mutliple facets of public service, poltical organizations, and business savvy. Her oldest daughter rejected her birthright of reign in order to pursue matters of the heart. Ruth Adair, the next in line, was happy to step into the position of Queen when the time came in 2089.
Ruth was well suited for the salesman position that began once the comepletion date of The People's Tower came close. She went across the world to sell the eco-friendly self-sustaining technology that the People's Tower achieved, and many times was able to help the public forget that she would be the monarch ruling over these new citizens of the Kingdom of Adair. The transition into ruling over an actual location was not entirely smooth. It took Ruth the better part of a decade to figure out what her subjects truly expected of her, and the attention her lords expected.
This did not stop the population of the Kingdom of Adair to thrive. Thousands of people ended up applying for citizen, some having left other coporate nations in order to seek fair treatment and comfortable lodgings. Others were people who wanted the go back to a more conservative lifestyle, and found comfort in having a supreme authority rule over them. Meanwhile Ruth's heir-apparent, Teresa Adair, worked to curate relationships with technologically advanced nations and corporations like Virgin Galactic in order keep their living experiement of a self-contained eco-friendly nation alive an well. In time she would cecede this to her brother, Urban Adair, as she would take the throne.
The strangest evolution was how the Level Lord familes would encourage their children who would not inherent their titles into the arts. By the 2120s, several families had established art houses that invested in not only their blood's artistic endeavors, but the rare invited artists into their homes. This has developed a strange culture over time of a science forward nation that also is known for being on the forefront of the arts and humanities.
Currently, Teresa Adair is ruling. She has been criticized for admitting that she made sure all three of the children she sired with King Stefano Ulrich would be female, ascerting that living these things to nature would destabilize the security of her nation. However, the serious investments of the kingdom's waste and reclamation services thanks to the Trahan Level Lords, and the Queen's previous connections with technological organizations and corporations who need resources, the Kingdom of Adair will continue to be sustained by their way of cornering resources.

Architecture

Almost all of the kingdom is contained in the 6 mile wide, 135 story tall The People's Tower.
There are small, glass buildings around the structure overall for security check points for people entering and exiting the Kingdom, as well as public relation meeting rooms and one as a museum for outsiders to learn about the history and culture of the kingdom.

Natural Resources

Resources are arguably not "natural"--a combination of waste from its citizens and surrounding populations do help fuel the economy of the Kingdom of Adair. In addition, the kingdom is able to consistently feed itself with it's vertical farming structures.
