Poseidon's Crest

At the edge of the city are the shores of The Isle of Dawn which purify the waters that lap at the sandy, rocky shores. A basin of Aether-infused water pools at the very edges of the Isle, creating barrier of water in a way for people to swim in, train in or even rest in if they are of marine life.

Geography

Aether's influence expanded out to the very edges of the Isle of Dawn, enriching the beaches and shores with his purifying energy. The sands of the beach sparkle like diamonds with mottling pits of brown, surrounding a thick rocky slope that leads up to Apollo City. There are various jutting pillars of rock that extend out toward the Tethys Lagoon that many residents use as crude diving boards. Around the isle itself, the crest has various rock formations, some of which tower over the beach itself, that invoke senses of exploration and adventure. Some have even taken the time to use the beach as a more relaxing, safer rock climbing alternative. It is a purifying, open-air cove that adheres to the shining island many people have become so familiar with.

Fauna & Flora

Lilies and palm trees grow in an arc that mirrors the shape of the sandy crest, almost mirroring a tropical beach paradise. As these are also infused with Aether, many believe that resting under palm trees with help accelerate their natural healing process. But these rumors are usually disproved by Apollo's medical community. Aside from the usual fish that occupy open waters, there is always a massive population of blue fin tuna around the crest. No one knows if the Aether is what draws them in particular but they are enjoyed by residents who often feed them, swim with them and even ride with them due to their varying sizes. While some can fit in the palm of one's hand, there have been sightings of tuna fish the size of cars swimming close to the shore. There has even been talk of the legend of the Olympian Tuna, a fish so large that it could cause tidal waves if it ever fully surfaced. This, in turn, created a group of people who are just as determined to find the Olympian Tuna as there are who search for Bigfoot.

Natural Resources

Fishermen have found the booming tuna population to be extremely valuable, becoming a staple in Apollo. However, it has also become a risky job due to how the temperament of the larger tuna can vary depending on who approaches them.

History

No one truly knows when or how Poseidon's Crest became settled as one of the most popular vacation spots in the isle but, shortly after Sinister's creation, many became drawn to it. This was mostly because of how the Aether that ebbed and flowed from the island created a barrier of safe, clean water that people could swim in while keeping the creatures and pollutants of the Tethys Lagoon out. This purifying area started at only a few feet but, after months, expanded into an enormous halo that spanned out in a two mile diameter. Even today, people believe that it continues to grow, its growth evident by the different tones of the crest's shimmering blue water and the lagoon's murky gray water.

Tourism

The most fervent tourists to Poseidon's Crest are those who come for relaxation, explorers and religious fanatics who believe that they can speak with the gods through the very Aether-infused waters themselves.
