Greenborn
In terms of Elemental Attunement , Greenborn are generally attuned to the earth, while a rare few among them are water attuned.
Greenborn are humanoids descended from the survivors of the Precursor Race who were on the island of Plenty during the Rising. The island of Plenty was a land of abundance, and the survivors had little difficulty in reestablishing a functioning society after the death of the old world. Within a few generations of exposure to elemental energy from both earth and water Source Crystals , the morphology of several families began to slowly transition into the modern races of Sapie, Gentle Ones, and Kissed.
After the creation of Sky Ships in 134 TFA and their subsequent wide adoption by different islands, a small population of Greenborn left Plenty do to religious disagreements and migrated to this islands of Union, Paradise, and Glass. Do to some unknown force on the island of Union , the population of Gentle Ones on the island slowly transitioned into the modern race of Bovid, and several Sapie groups inhabiting Union's north most island became the modern Vezulva.

Family names
Some Greenborn family names include, but are not limited to: Farmer, Potato, Gusboy, Stone, Clay, Axolotlfriend, Stoneshaper, and Goldenfield.
Culture
Major language groups and dialects
Greenborn speak Terran and Aquan innately, but learn how to speak Primordial in order to communicate with other groups.
Greenborn Aquan is said to sound harsher than Valeer Aquan.
Common Etiquette rules
Greenborn custom dictates that when food is available, food must be provided. When entertaining guests, feeding them is always top priority. Most households keep some kind of prepared food ready, just in case someone unexpected arrives at a time between meals.
Common Dress code
Greenborn tend to wear clothes made from hemp, cotton, and other processed plant fibers. Greenborn generally abhor the wearing of furs or pelts of any kind, so great is their love for animals. The only exception is wool, as it is not necessary to kill a sheep in its production. Although, more culturally conservative Greenborn even reject this minor exception.
Common Customs, traditions and rituals
Some general cultural customs are as follows:
- Greenborn cannot willingly consume the flesh of any animal.
- Greenborn cannot leave their home island until they reach adulthood.
- Greenborn cannot wear the pelt of another animal.
Coming of Age Rites
Greenborn are considered to be adults once they reach the age of 20. By this point, they are expected to have learned all of their families recipes by heart and have chosen what kind of plant they would like to fertilize after they pass. Once they reach adulthood, they can begin apprenticing under a master of any given craft, or leave their home island.
Funerary and Memorial customs
When Greenborn pass away, they are planted in the earth so that they may return to nature. Before the age of 20, each Greenborn is expected to have chosen the kind of plant they wish for their body to fertilize after death. The funeral itself is a solemn, but cheerful occasion, which is punctuated with a large feast in memory of the deceased, during which their favorite foods are served. Prayers to both The Earth Titan and The Water Titan are often made as the body is lowered into the ground.
The plants which spring from the soil nurtured by Greenborn dead are considered to be the deceased, given new life by the transitive power of nature. Loved ones often spend time with the plants, sometimes talking to them as if they were deceased. Certain members of The Circle are said to be able to communicate with the dead in their new plant forms.
Common Taboos
Eating the flesh of animals is considered abominable in Greenborn culture, and leads to the most tension between Greenborn and the other people of the Fractured Skies. Most Greenborn majority settlements have laws preventing the consumption of meat, on pain of permanent exile from the community.

Greenborn culture is highly monogamous, modeling themselves after the supposed relationship of The Earth Titan and The Water Titan. An ever present tension within the culture exist between those who believe divorce to be a healthy social necessity and those who believe that the modern ease of separation will degrade the sacred union of two beings.
