Brazenthrone

The ancient megacity home of the Dwarves. All passage in and out is rigorously inspected with strong governance of its people. Outsiders, while allowed, are wary to spend any extended amount of time in such a claustrophobic and controlled environment.

Mostly Dwarf, small enclaves of other races, and a community of Gnomes

Electoral Monarchy in which the new king is selected by clan leaders among the previous king's descendants

Defences

Only one way in or out through a massive fatal funnel, with several levels of defense built in beyond the massive layers of gates. No military would dream of trying to invade Brazenthrone.

Industry & Trade

Guilds and factions have extensive networks of craftsman who's goods are distributed outward to their surface trading outposts
