Dark Artifacts
There are 12 objects that have been seeded with strong Deridah based magical power. Originally made using the souls of the Elder Demons, they have been used for so many rituals and spells that they have taken on enough power to be fixtures in the world. They are the metaphysical opposites of the Holy Mythril Blades.
The Artifact of Chaos is the Eye of Finality, a magical eye-topped staff that can predict someone's destined death, among other properties. It is currently on the island of Vivo in the hands of the Order of the Hidden Blades.
The Artifact of Stasis is the Cloak of Nowhere, first belonging to Adam Faera, then Thaler, and is now held by Ēdwhâ Qhēnnueigh until it disappeared from her collection several years later. The cloak allows the user to teleport short distances in line of sight instantly.
The Artifact of Darkness is the Blackblade, the counterpart of the Brightblade, recovered from a tomb in Klia, its location after its use by Atrion Vlaston in The Abyss is unknown. The blade has the power to absorb light and corrupt the victim.
The Artifact of Light is the Brightblade, the counterpart to the Blackblade, recovered from a tomb in Klia, its location after its use by Atrion Vlaston in The Abyss is unknown. It has the power to blind and create illusory copies of the wielder to confuse enemies. The gem in the pommel is the only piece left of the god Crimson's heart of the forest, lost after his ascension.
The Artifact of Death is the Reaver's Sword. Manipulated and enchanted to seek out Dwarves with its powerful magic, spreading a plague in a Caeladonian conspiracy to both frame the Ascended Heroes and harm their rival, the Randgriz Empire. It was stolen from the Randgriz vault by the founders of Fortune Networks for Thaler and utilized in a ploy to subjugate the Gigas of Life, Anima. After they stopped Thaler's plan, the sword was returned to the vault.
The Artifact of Life is the Ring of Power, previously belonging to Trogdor it is now held and protected by the headmaster of the Singing Towers It powers the users magical ability and natural healing factor.
The Artifact of Fire is the Staff of the Inferno, an ornate fiery staff capable of whipping up a city-sized firestorm in the right hands. It was used by Zulex Vlaston as part of his plan to control the World Engine, though its location after its destruction is unknown.
The Artifact of Water is the Fiddle Laveja. Previously belonging to the goddess Karyb, it was lost during the War of Balimor during a ritual performed by the Avalon School of Blood and Godkillers in an effort to remove the corruption. It has since re-entered the world through the power of the Elder Demon of Water's soul. It has passed through the hands of many a bard, some not even aware of the power in their hands.
The Artifact of Earth is the Reaver's Guard. Used by the Randgriz Empire to counteract the power of the Reaver's Sword, its entire purpose is to be the scabbard holding back the blade's flow of death. It could possibly have other, unexplored uses.
The Artifact of Air is Feather. After the soul was used by Nozamere to refine mining technology, she was rewarded with the soul itself to place in her hammer. The massive hammer is light as a feather to its wielder but normal weight to everyone else, allowing the user to swing it with massive destructive force.
The Artifact of Wood is Demonsbane, once the blade of the Corrupted Invader Roderic Gaspard, having ran off from his former friends and allies, the Ascended Heroes with the Elder Demon soul. It was later taken by the hero Carol and is supposedly left in the ruins of Liberus. It has the power to deal massive damage to monsters.
The Artifact of Metal is the Crystal Crown. The crown of the ruler of Arcadia, currently held by Mia Nothius, the Queen of Arcadia. It grants the wearer both increased wisdom and mental fortitude.
