Sommer

Sommer is one of the sixteen Hexabeyance, artifacts created by Bhaskar Distan'Vwaje to help restore Bahamut in case Tiamat ever succeeded in killing her brother.   Sommer is in the Prevailing Equinoxes quadrant of Hexabeyances.   The artifact has been known by many names over the centuries.

The Seed of Summer

The Seed of Summer was originally a force of nature given to Bhaskar by the Fey Court.

Sommer - The Heart of Dragonfire

Sommer was the Hexabeyance created by the fire of six golden dragons. Amyria | Deva Paladin tried to protect Bhaskar during the forging process, but the architect not survive. Some say he sacrificed himself to create the last Hexabeyance, convicted that doing so was the only way to protect the Platinum Dragon.

Flaming Fury

A magical boulder of dripping magma grew around Sommer. A dragonborn knight named Infernus lusted over the latent power of the artifact. He called it Flaming Fury.   Infernus Flamesbreath betrayed his family's sworn allegience to Bahamut by secretly serving as a blackguard paladin of Tiamat. Aspiring to rise in his Queen's hierarchy, he ritualistically sacrificed a clutch of dragonborn eggs in a ritual to ascend to exarch. Some of the most prominent families lost their unhatched during the ritual including the Foulbreaths, Frostbites, Quagmyres and Voltaix.   At the conclusion of the ritual Infernus was no more. Vraxanault the Terrible was born.

The Smouldering Egg

Vraxanault's dark ritual murdered the clutch of unborn dragonborn and consumed the magical lava surrounding the Seed of Flaming Fury, leaving behind a smouldering, roughly egg-shaped, husk. Svizzera Flamesbreath | Dragonborn Paladin tried and failed to stop his brother Infernus. Not understanding the true nature of the object, Svizzera passed the "egg" to Infernus' illegitimate son, Hellhammer Flamesbreath | Dragonborn Bard.   Hellhammer wrote the poem In the Land of Gorgoroth as a tribute to his father and uncle. Before he died he passed the poem, the "egg", and his warhammer to the next generation who passed it to the next and so on. Many generations later the items had come to rest on a potato farm in Brindol in the Elsir Vale.
Hexabeyance, as powerful as they are, can't create life. They were designed to restore a life wrongfully taken. They can, however, sometimes act as a conduit to enable life where it would otherwise be barren.   Bhaskar Distan'Vwaje

The Heart of Gorgoroth

From the dead husk of the Seed of Flaming Fury, the love of Hellhammer for his father and uncle and the generations of Flamesbreath's after him nourished new hope into the latent Hexabeyance. Hundreds of years later when Pal'Ratha Flamesbreath and Livvy Blackthorn expressed their love even though they could not have children, the Hexabeyance transformed the husk into a dragonborn egg.   The egg hatched. The young dragonborn born to Pal'Ratha and Livvy Flamebreath carried the newly transformed Hexabeyance inside of him, the Heart of Gorgoroth. He never knew it existed because the of the warmth of his family's love that he also carried in his chest.
