Adventuring
Adventuring is the main way in which players experience the game and the process by which characters explore and accomplish tasks in The New World. Any organized gameplay is, by definition, either Adventuring or Downtime, the difference being that Adventuring consists of player characters leaving an established Sanctuary and entering The Wilds as a group with one or more specific goals in mind. An adventuring goal may be set by the players themselves, or through Bounties created by NPCs.
All adventures consist of three main steps: organizing a Party, exploring the Wilds, and returning to a Sanctuary. Players are responsible for determining which characters will be part of an adventuring Party, but there must be at least three and no more than six characters in the party and each player may control only one character. Players should also decide in advance which area(s) of the New World they intend to visit in the course of their adventure and what goal(s) they hope to accomplish. Once they have done so, they must contact the GM and set a date and time for the adventure to take place.
Once the adventure has begun, the characters who form the adventuring party enter the Wilds and set about achieving their pre-determined goal(s). Interacting with NPCs and performing tasks within Sanctuaries should be kept to a minimum, as this is more appropriate for Downtime sessions. Most likely, the party will need to Travel to another location in the New World before they can begin their adventure in earnest. They must then overcome whatever challenges and obstacles the GM sets in their path in order to accomplish their goal(s). Once they have achieved their objective or determined that the adventure should end for some other reason, they must travel back to a Sanctuary, where the adventure ends.
After returning to a Sanctuary, which might or might not be the same one they embarked from, the party may collect the rewards for their endeavors. Before doing so, however, one or more of the players involved must create an Adventure Report detailing what happened to the party during their adventure and any new discoveries they made. Without a published report, anything that happens in the Wilds is merely rumor and hearsay, and may as well not have happened at all. Once the GM receives the Adventure Report(s), they will award each character an amount of XP commensurate with the challenges they overcame (plus a small bonus if that character's player authored a quality Adventure Report). If the party completed a Bounty, then they also receive the rewards for doing so, which they may divide in whatever manner they wish.
Once a character returns from an adventure, they most likely will not be available for another right away. If the adventure involved a significant amount of Travel, then every character in the party is out of play until all of the applicable Travel time has elapsed. Additionally, a player may want their character to take a Long Rest once they have safely returned to a Sanctuary, during which time they may pursue Downtime activities if they wish to do so.

Adventuring Steps:
- Organize a Party consisting of 3 to 6 player characters. Inform the GM of who will be in the party, where they intend to go in the Wilds, and what they are hoping to accomplish. Set a date and time for the adventure which is convenient for all involved.
- Enter the Wilds and pursue the Party's pre-determined goals by roleplaying via the Roll20 platform.
- Return to a Sanctuary. Publish an Adventure Report. Receive XP and Bounty rewards, if applicable.
- Optionally, take a Long Rest and engage in Downtime activities before beginning a new adventure.
