Drow
Drow (also known as "Dark Elves") are a Sub-Race of Elf native to The Old World. They are the least common type of Elf but are well-known to other Races due to their sinister reputation and willingness to travel outside their homeland of Alderac. They are a playable Sub-Race best-suited to Classes which take advantage of their cunning, magical aptitude, and talent for manipulating others, such as Rogue, Sorcerer, or Warlock (see https://www.dndwiki.io/races/drow).
Basic Information
Anatomy
Drow fall between High Elves and Wood Elves in height and build, with females typically being slightly larger than males. They are easily distinguished from other types of Elves by their grey or black skin and short softly-pointed ears. Male Drow almost never grow facial hair.

Social Structure
Drow society is highly competitive, being founded on the premise that the strong should rule and the weak should serve. Social hierarchies are strict, but can be subverted by overthrowing one's superiors through violence or subterfuge. Drow are matriarchal, with magic, business, and politicking being respectable pursuits for females, while males are considered useful only for war and menial labor.
Facial characteristics
Drow features are sharp and striking, though more delicate than those of Wood Elves. Their ears are relatively short, ending in a soft point. Most have red or hazel eyes and white or pale blonde hair.
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Drow are native to Alderac, where they make up almost the entire Elven population, but are also present in Ifri and Khitai. It is not uncommon for Drow exiles to settle in Human lands, supporting themselves through crime and mercenary work.
Average Intelligence
Drow are exceptionally cunning, although their strengths tend to lie in manipulation and intrigue rather than traditional scholarship. Their civilization is, in many respects, less advanced than that of High Elves, but this is largely due to constant infighting among Drow leaders rather than any innate inferiority.
