Light Domain

The Light Domain is an Archetype of the Cleric Class available to players during Character Creation. It is the most common type of Cleric in The Old World, as Light is the primary domain of Pholtus, who commands a larger following than any other deity. Light Clerics are strong offensive spellcasters, adept at revealing hidden foes and striking down the unrighteous with divine radiance (see https://www.dndwiki.io/subclasses/light-domain).

A Light Cleric is anathema to those who hide in darkness. There is little subtlety in their approach to Combat, as they channel raw divine power in the form of searing light to illuminate the battlefield and overwhelm their enemies. While their martial bent is less pronounced than that of War Clerics, they are a force to be reckoned with and carry out their duty to defend the faithful with a crusader's zeal. Aside from their skill as warriors, they are frequently trained as inquisitors and judges, ferreting out the truth and enforcing their god's commandments with prodigious fervor.

Most Light Clerics are devotees of Pholtus, forming a majority of the priesthood in every Pholtist denomination. The Church of Pholtus' Light Clerics, who are exclusively female and are known as "Lightmaidens," are present to some degree in almost every Human Nation. In fact, the Light Domain is so widespread that some ignorant souls assume all true Clerics are Light Clerics, believing other domains to be charlatanism or witchcraft. Aside from Pholtus, deities of the Light Domain include Pelor, the Sarmi sun god, and Sehanine Moonbow, the Elven goddess of wisdom and death.
