Tempest Domain
The Tempest Domain is an Archetype of the Cleric Class available to players during Character Creation. It is the rarest type of Cleric in The Old World, having a significant presence only in Latia Minor, Thule, and Ifri. Tempest Clerics wield the power of thunder and lightning to cut down their foes in Combat, and are often skilled with mundane weapons as well (see https://www.dndwiki.io/subclasses/tempest-domain, but not the variant rule detailed below).
Tempest Clerics are avatars of the heavens' wrath and terrifying to behold when provoked. In battle, their bodies are wreathed with lightning and their every blow lands with the force of a ferocious gale. They are dour and unpredictable folk, often capricious and quick to anger, but highly protective of those who enjoy their god's favor, such as warriors and sailors. On the high seas, there is no better ally than a Tempest Cleric, for they are the only mortals capable of interceding with the fickle powers that rule the wind and waves.
Tempest Clerics exist primarily among Humans and Orcs, though sailors of all Races frequently venerate storm and sea gods. Tempest is the primary domain of Procan, Pagan god of the ocean, who is commonly worshiped in Dunlagh and Sarmion. Among the Thulian pantheon, Kord, the storm warrior, and his father, Phaulkon the sky king, embrace the Tempest domain as well. Gruumsh, the patron god of Orcs, claims Tempest as a secondary domain. Orc superstition holds that storms occur when Gruumsh fights battles against other gods in the heavens, making them a cause for celebration and feasting.
Tempest Clerics are subject to the following variant rule:
A Tempest Cleric may use their "Divine Strike" ability any time they hit a creature with a weapon attack. Once they have used Divine Strike, they may not use it again until the beginning of their next turn.
