Caenar

History

House Caenar is descended from a renowned warrior named Caen Kingsbane, who fought a number of sea battles against King Rielyn Gilren in the Third Youkan Civil War, keeping the royal fleet from reaching Youk while the Queen was marshalling her forces in the north. Though he died in the final battle of the war, felled by Rielyn's own Poleaxe, the victorious Queen Jordyn III Gilren named his son Caener a Baron in thanks for his father's service.
The Caenars were amongst those who supported Jaedyn Gilren against her twin, Jordyn V Gilren in the Fourth Youkan Civil War.
Caener took a cluster of seaweed for his sigil, in memory of his father's fondness for it. It remained the sigil of the house until Quori Caenar's mother, Jaedyn Yuon married Laen Caenar, whereafter the seaweed cluster was quartered with the food basket of Yuon.

Demography and Population

Quori Caenar is the current head of House Caenar. Her eldest child, a woman named Laener has been betrothed to Hoswen Gaen. It is unknown if Laener means to maintain her mother's title or abdicate in favor of her younger brother, Jordyn Caenar, who is off delving for gold and glory in Mibr Bay. 
Quori's younger brother, Larryn Caenar lives in Caenarby with his sister, caring for the keep and her affairs when she is away.

Territories

House Caenar rules over the village of Caenarby, southeast of Yuondao in Duchess Jordyn Yuon's own County, and a small amount of land surrounding it. This includes a mill, a well, and nearly two hundred inhabitants.
