Captain Sigurd "Snake Eyes" was the captain of the
Sea Ghost before he was hung in
Saltmarsh and his ship taken by the
Heroes of Saltmarsh.
History
Sometime prior to 1496, Sigurd obtained the possession of his own crew and ship, the
Sea Ghost. Sigurd spent most of his time smuggling goods between
Waterdeep and
Luskan. During his time as captain, Sigurd established romantic attachments in multiple ports, Bonnie, Donnie, and
Lonnie, the latter of who lived in
the Styes.
In 1496, Sigurd was hired by
Sanbalet and
Mr. Dory to transport weapons stolen from the
Neverwinter Guard to the
Sunny Shore Tribe. As part of the deal, a few
lizardfolk were allowed to stay on the deck of the
Sea Ghost, alongside the
pseudodragon Sizzabiz. Sigurd and his crew also discovered the
triton Oceanus investigating their ship and captured him, throwing him into one of their secret storage rooms until they could figure out what to do with him.
On the 27th of Flamerule, 1496, the future
Heroes of Saltmarsh managed to kill
Sanbalet and disrupt the smuggling operation from the
Haunted Mansion of Saltmarsh. The following day, the adventurers managed to get onboard the
Sea Ghost after they discovered the smugglers signalling system. The crew of the ship quickly figured out the deception, but were dispatched by the adventurers and Sigurd was captured. He was turned over to the
Council of Waterdeep and hung within a few weeks.
