London Sanctum

The London Sanctum is one of the bases of the Masters of the Mystic Arts, alongside the New York Sanctum Santorum and the Hong Kong Sanctum.

Due to the connection between the British Isles and Otherworld, as well as the usual duties of a Sanctum Master, the Master of the London Sactum also acts as the ambassador for the Masters of the Mystic Arts to the Starlight Citadel, Camelot, the Holy Republic of the Fae, and the other Courts of Otherworld. Because of this, and because of the Ancient One's personal history with British magic, Masters of the Sanctum have traditionally been granted a high degree of autonomy.

Masters of the London Sanctum are usually considered odd even by the standards of magicians, and tend to 'go native' quickly due to Otherworld politics requiring them to work closely with other organisations such as MI13, the Bloodstone family and various Druid clans.

Since the 12th century, the Master of the London Sanctum has also been the Heir of Merlin, charged with protecting the Nexus of All Realities. This responsibility is considered sepperate to that of Sanctum Master, and is rarely if ever discussed with other members of the Masters of the Mystic Arts.

In 2017, the London Sanctum was attacked by Karl Mordo and the Empirikul, who kidnapped the Sanctum Master, Anthony Druid, in order to force him to open the gateway to the Nexus. The Sanctum was badly damaged, and several important books and magic artefacts stored in it were permanently destroyed.

Notable items housed in the Sanctum include Caliburn, the Ebony Dagger, the Clock of Ages, the Stones of Merlin, and the Shield of Endless Misery.
