Wakandan
Wakandans are natives of Wakanda. Due to Wakanda's border defences and policy of non-interventionism, 98.7% of the Wakandan population have two native Wakandan parents.
Wakandan society is divided into five tribes, although each tribe has numerous regional subdivisions.
Naming Traditions
Family names
Wakandans do not generally use surnames, prefering to add a patronymic or (less commonly) a matronymic, or to append the name of their tribe. Married omen may adopt their husband's first name into their own name, by appending 'iqadi (lit. wife of) X' after their name, although this is considered archaic, and is usually done only by older women or women marrying into the Royal Family.
