The Iasrum
The Iasrum Archipelago is a group of islands off the southern coast of the Meraqian continent. Settled by various civilisations across the centuries, the Iasrumi islands are diverse hubs of trade and culture. Calling themselves the 'Sea People,' Iasrumi citizens are known for their innate knowledge of seafaring, which is thought to be a form of magic. The Sky Islands were according to Iasrumi history, first settled by Iasrumi Sea People. Ruled over by various elected Tribesheadsmen, the Iasrum is home to the continent's first democratic republic. Created, according to Iasrumi myth, when the craftsman god Alos was forging a hammer so strong the land beneath his anvil shattered into thirty-six pieces, the archipelagic nation has birthed several religions and cults - most notoriously the controversial Word of Cantium cult, though most citizens practice the paganistic belief of the Island Spirits, or Iasrumi Euferism.
