Edhelest gains its independence from the Elysian Empire and becomes the Republic of Edhelest.
Lydia Flynn Danvers, a key player in the fight for Edhelest's freedom from the Elysian Empire, becomes the first prime minister of the Republic of Edhelest.
Tarai Amara Mitra, a key player in the revolution against the Elysian Empire, becomes first prime minister of the Tamluk Republic.
After winning independence from the Elysian Empire and much internal debate, the Tamluk Republic is Founded.
The Edhelest-Tamluk Alliance is signed between the two prime ministers of the Edhelest Republic and the Tamluk Republic, Lydia Flynn Danvers and Tarai Amara Mitra.
The Republic Group, that would later become known as the Beer Run Trio, first began their journey in recorded history.
Keford, the capital of the Edhelest Republic, was taken by a high-ranking military officer with the help of Western Elysian Queen Regent Stefania. He crowned himself dictator of Edhelest and began to conquer more of the country after this date.
Alerham, the capital of the United Kingdom of Guildwick, was taken by a military officer after a coup backed by Western Elysian Empress Stefania. The remaining living royal family members of Guildwick were forced to go into hiding. Only the youngest heirs of the royal family managed to escape assassination.
A civil war spanning two years began not long after a dictator staged an Elysian-backed coup on the Keford, the capital of Edhelest, and killed the Prime Minister. Almost a year later, the tyrant's reign was challenged by rebel forces, including some ex-Elysian soldiers and assassins. This conflict would continue even after the dictator was killed, until a republic government system was reinstated.
Stefania, Empress of the Eastern Elysian Empire, is killed in battle by ex-Empire rebels.
After the death of Empress Stefania, Western Elysian Emperor Titus Cicero Amulius threatened the young Emperor Attius II to abdicate his rule. With hardly any political or military support, Attius II is forced to comply with Titus's demands, making the older man sole ruler of the East and Western Elysian Empire.
Nyxvanus regained its independence from the Elysian Empire and became its own country once more. However, this would not mean peace within the country for years to come.
What would become known as "The Decade of Struggle" occurred during these years within the newly independent country of Nyxvanus. After being freed from the Elysian Empire's control, the country continued to struggle internally between the powers of The Peerage (AKA "The Twelve"), the lower nobility, and the commonfolk. This period would end with most of the victory belonging to the lower nobility and commoners.
Elysian Emperor Titus Cicero Amulius was killed in battle by ex-Empire rebels and his own daughter, Cassian "Cassia" Amulius. The rebels were backed by warriors from Sylvia and Elysians desiring a better country under new leadership.
Princess Cassian "Cassia" Amulius was crowned Empress of the Western Elysian Empire after the death of her father, Titus Cicero. She promised to usher in a new era of enlightenment and rebirth for the country--one that would uplift all peoples, no matter their background. It is recorded that she was supported by the Elysian ex-military leader Diocleationus and High King Valamir of Sylvia.
The First Civil War of Edhelest came to a close with the republic rebels defeating the military dictatorship, and on this date, the republic government was officially reinstated to full power with a newly elected Prime Minister in front of the entire capital of Keford.
After taking back the throne from a military dictator previously backed by deceased Empress Stefania, the royal family of the United Kingdom of Guildwick is reinstated to full power.
Empress Cassian Amulius marries her childhood friend and close confidant, the well-respected antiquarian Lexus Diarmad Messala. Their marriage is celebrated in the capital as an event open to people from all walks of life. (It is rumored that the two are secretly wed to an unknown third party, but this has never been confirmed.)
Empress Cassian Amulius and her husband, Lexus, celebrate the birth of their first child together. Rumors spread that the timing meant the two must have gotten married after she became pregnant. Others gossiped about the appearance of the child, believing someone else was the true father. None of these rumors were ever proven, and those who spoke of them were often shunned by the Empress's supporters.
Empress Cassia and Emperor Lexus welcome their second child. Some of their political enemies continue to gossip about the parentage of their children. This time they say that the child "actually looks" like the Emperor. Empress Cassia refuses to allow any of the people who make such comments to her face back into the palace.
Ex-noble Vania Rose Vanitas and Glyn Rhoderick Gwenlan are married on this date. Although they both proposed to their longtime friend and mutual love, Morgaine Freddi Williams, as well, Morgaine is rumored to have turned down their offer due to their dislike of "the foundations of marriage." However, it is said that Morgaine continued to be their romantic partner for the rest of their lives.
The Western Elysian Empire slowly fractured into separate territories over decades of policy changes. Parts of the land were given back to their native inhabitants and declared free countries or city states after Empress Cassian Amulius and her political supporters rapidly passed many reforms. The Eastern Elysian Empire, however, had previously been under the control of her inexperienced younger cousin. High King Valamir of Sylvia had temporarily taken control of the Eastern Elysian Empire after the war, but multiple factions fought against each other (this will be covered in another timeline section.)
Empress Cassian Amulius and Emperor Lexus welcome the birth of their third child, Princess Lydia Astraea.
Julien Vanitas and his husband, Edica, adopted an orphaned 4-year-old boy as their son.
Cassian "Cassia" Amulius and Lexus Diarmad Messala welcome their last child together along with close friends and family in their private house.
Queen Charlotte and King Storm Crow of the Winter Fae Court welcome the birth of their first child and heir to the throne, Princess Aurora.
The first firearm (not from the Modern Plane/future) is invented. These existed before matchlock guns were created, and were fired by holding a burning wick to a "touch hole" in the barrel igniting the powder inside. Fire magic or fire runes carved into the outside could also be used instead of a wick. A shooter used one hand for firing, and a prop was needed to steady the gun.
After figuring out how to create sentient giant lobsters, Scurra and Estrella took it upon themselves to teach them language, writing, and combat skills in order to start the first ever ethical giant lobster fights. This would later become known as the Underwater Kingdom of Eldoris's famous Oceanwide Lobster Wrestling Competition.
The existence and innovation of firearms (specifically, early hand guns) spreads across Lebrith and becomes well-known by this point in time. Most people would recognize one on sight, or have at least heard about them. They are expensive and not largely used outside of the military, yet.
Queen Charlotte and King Storm Crow of the Winter Fae Court welcome the birth of their second child.
Empress Cassian "Cassia" Amulius gratefully steps down from her throne and abdicates her power to the country's newly elected officials--declaring the end of the Western Elysian Empire, and the founding of the The Renovamen Federation. This would be a collection of countries who worked together to make policies under a republic government.
The Eastern Elysian Empire finally broke into civil war after decades of tension and disagreement over how the country should be ran in the future. One side wanted to remain as it always had been: an empire overseen by the previous royal family's blood line. The other desired different forms of government, usually of the democratic or republic variety, though other ideas were tossed around as well. These factions finally decided that the only way they could move forward was to fight for their side and future.
The first device, or "lock," for mechanically firing a gun is created (not brought from the future by Transporters). It becomes known as the "matchlock." Firearms are altered so that powder is held in a "flash pan," and ignited by a wick, or match, in a movable clamp. Both hands remain on the gun, vastly improving aim.
During the 11 years after the Western Elysian Empire had been dissolved and reformed as a collection of country states under one republic government known as The Renovamen Federation, the Eastern Elysian Empire went through an on-and-off civil war. Multiple factions rose and fell over the decade, until a champion had finally been crowned the winner, and the Western Elysian Empire became known as The Elective Monarchy of Acanthus.
As a show of good will, High King Valamir agrees to forge an alliance with the new monarch of The Elective Monarchy of Acanthus. The agreement is very quickly pushed through so that Valamir can send as much aid as he possibly can for the people of Acanthus who need to recover from over a decade of on-and-off civil war.
Firearms receive a new upgrade with the invention of the wheel lock, which generates a spark mechanically. With no wick to keep lit, the wheel lock is easier to use, and more reliable than the matchlock. However, wheel locks are expensive to produce.
Professor Illuamor Ergavitas IV published the groundbreaking first volume of his Compendium of Marvelous Creators, which included over a century of his studies on different monsters, beasts, and even some otherworldly phenomena. Once the word of the book spreads, it becomes highly sought out by collectors, libraries, scientists, monster hunters, and ecobiologists alike. Professor Illuamor is declared the expert on monsters within 5 years of publishing.
Illuamor and Vice have twins.
The first flintlock is created in this era, and solved a longstanding problem. The flintlock mechanism was designed to push back the lid over the flash pan that protected/exposed the gunpowder when desired (rather than doing so manually) and sparked a flint at the same time.
The first boiler with a safety valve and made from wrought iron was invented. This would soon lead to the invention of the steam engine.
The first piston and cylinder steam engine is created. It was mainly used for removing water from mines, and had yet to be used for larger machinery. It was also used for pumping water to large buildings. Trains and other transportation such as cars had yet to be invented, and the steam engine was used mostly in the western/central areas of Lebrith. It had yet to spread to the east.
After more than 10 years of experimentation, the steam pump using atmospheric pressure to push the engine's piston down was invented. It became common to use it for powering water wheels. The train still has yet to be invented, though some small steam-powered locomotives were going through their earliest phases of testing in Nyxvanus.
The Second Edhelest Civil War began after decades of political strife and discontent spread among the republic government and citizens of Edhelest. Multiple factions were born: those who supported the republic, and those who desired an oligarchy controlled by only those with the most power and wealth in the country--themselves.
