Kaon Missile

A type of missiles used by the Hyperion Federation military. The Kaon is a small, fast and heavily reinforced space - space weapon that, when ued in large numbers, can overwhelm an enemy starship CIWS network and hit the hull. At this point, its strong and dense nature allows it to penetrate most armour. At this point, it deploys its payload often consisting of some form of high explosive compund such as quark-gluon plasma or a large quantity of high energy photons. Others are designed to cause fragmenting within enemy armour, targeting the crew instead, but the HF doesnt often use these. The Kaon has a maximum range of 8.2 Mm with an acceleration rate of 400 m/s², initial velocity of 1000 m/s and fuel tank that lasts 200 s. The fuel tank is an antimatter anihilation core that annihilates antimatter in the thruster. This results in the creation of many high energy photons and provides the missile witih a large momentum. Under the effect of a very powerful magnetic field, the efficiency of such a drive is improved significantly as all photons are then emitted in a tight cone. This can easily be vectored, by changing the direction of the magnetic field. A powerful quantim computer guides the missile, giving it a very high accuracy against small, fast targets.
