Lewin am Ahmi
His Grace, Duke Lewin am Ahmi
Lewin am Ahmi was the Duke of Len Doa and the father of the current Duke, Landan am Ahmi. Lewin died during the Imesse - Colo War fighting with his fellow Duke, Turl am Nari.
Lewin was a popular Duke in his home territory, but when the course of the war with Colo began to go badly, Turl began to spread rumors that the failings of the Imessian armies were the fault of Lewin, rather than his own. In a large battle very near the Imesse border, Lewin fought a desperate holding action that failed to turn the tide of battle, losing his life in the effort. Turl again blamed the lost battle on his fallen "friend" Lewin.

Personal history
Duke Lewin was a close associate of the Duke of Hekmo, Turl am Nari. In the lead up to the The Second Cobal-Imesse War in 215 AF, Duke Lewin was insturmental in planning and organizing the invasion. He even made sure his son, the future Duke Landan am Ahmi, was involved so that he would have a chance to gain actual combat experience and leadership skills. Lewin himself did not participate in the invasion, but stayed in Len Doa to raise more regiments for the fighting in Colo, as Turl had plans to immediately attack north again once the Cobal invasion succeeded in its planned goals.
With the disaster unfolding before the Kingdoms eyes, Lewin mustered his forces and moved to march to support the failed invasion, but he was ordered by Max II to take his regiments north, instead. In October of 215, Lewin had marched his 2,500 men to just north of the frontier town of Norfot at the headwaters of the Dorn River (known as the Dorn Gap). On the night of October 5th, his camp was attacked by a force of 1,100 mounted Colian knights and utterly defeated. Lewin was killed fighting a rearguard action to defend his fleeing troops.
In the following months, the Duke of Hekmo loudly blamed the failure of the invasion of Cobal and much of the failure of the war in Colo on Duke Lewin. This slander campaign was successful enough to draw enough of the blame away from Turl that he managed to keep his head and title, but still had his command of Imessian forces taken from him by the High King.
Personality Characteristics
Representation & Legacy
Lewin is remembered fondly in the Duchy of Len Doa, but his name is still tainted by scandal and doubt in the court at Northridge. Lewin's son, Landan has worked tirelessly to clear his father's name ever since, to little effect.
