Lennis am Ahmi

His Grace, Duke Lennis am Ahmi

Lennis am Ahmi was the Duke of Ben Doa for three years and was the father of the current Duke, Leland am Ahmi.   After the death of Duke Hamlin am Ahmi in 209 AF, who had no legitimate heir, the High King Max II granted the title to Lennis at the behest of his nephew Mak II and Duke Lewin am Ahmi, Lennis' older brother. Lennis was Duke only a short time when the Imesse - Colo War began, and he was killed in the Battle of Nyallshold.   Lennis' only son, Leland am Ahmi, was the heir to the title but was only 12 years old at the time of his father's death. The Briar of Ben Doa, Tad Atwell, ruled in the boy's stead for the four years until he came of age.

Personal history

Lennis was born the youngest son of Duke Lenard am Ahmi of the Duchy of Len Doa. When Lenard died in 198 AF, his oldest son, Lewin inhereted the title of Duke of Len Doa. Lennis had few prospects of reaching an elevated title himself as the youngest son, but when Duke Hamlin am Ahmi died in 209 AF, both Lewin and his friend King Mak II asked High King Max II to name him the new Ahmi Duke of Ben Doa. Max agreed and Lennis became the new Duke of Ben Doa, if only for a short time.   In 213 AF, Turl am Nari called up an army from the northern territories of the Kingdom and invaded Colo. The first large-scale battle of that war was fought les than a mile from the Colian city of Nyallshold, and the Duke's son Torun am Nari led the army into the greatest defeat it would suffer the entire war. Of the more than 2,000 men he lost that day, Lennis was among them. His banner and his great sword were recovered and returned to his family, but his body was left unburied on the battlefield.
