The Governorate of the Eastern Province is the administrative body that oversees the governance of the Eastern Province, one of the key provinces in the Namorian Republic. Although the region is now referred to as the Eastern Province, the head of the governorate still bears the historic title of the Governor of Lanathal, a nod to the province's historical roots.
Previously the governorate was called the Governorate of Lanathal until the Thalosian Confederation united with it in 30 RE, requiring the expansion of it's borders. While the province itself was renamed, due to an oversight the title of the governor was not. The people of the Oram Coast do not protest this quirk, as they retain most of their autonomy while having the protection and support of the Namorian Republic.
