History
In the late years of the Era of Balance, the coastal city of Ecrosa began as a humble fishing village. As the region flourished, it caught the eye of ambitious leaders who sought to establish a capital befitting the grandeur of Stoze. It carried this name for hundereds of years until in the year 312 ME, under the rule of King Markus Ravenswood and Queen Vanesa Ravenswood I, it underwent a transformative expansion and was renamed to Murdershold. The construction of the Raven's Citadel, perched majestically on a hill, marked the city's rise to prominence. This grand castle became the seat of power for the royal family, overlooking the districts that sprawled below. The city's gothic architecture, a reflection of the era's cultural and artistic renaissance, flourished with each passing year.
The Crimson Spire Academy and the Temple of Lethra were established around the same time, adding to the city's allure as a center of both arcane knowledge and spiritual enlightenment. The convergence of scholars, mages, and the devout created a unique blend of wisdom and mysticism within Murdershold. Over the centuries, the city's strategic location made it a key player in maritime trade, fostering economic prosperity in Seafarer's Haven. However, the Silent Market's emergence brought challenges, prompting the establishment of the Shadow Wardens to maintain order and counteract illicit activities.
