Lurgrak

Lurgrak is an Orc, the son of the warlord Gruzhgarn. A cunning and puissanrt fighter, Lurgrak led many raids and sorties in the War of the Three Heads, including capturing Brokenwall Keep. When the keep was retaken by Lt. Daria Havengard of Phoenix Company, he was captured by the Lieutenant. This ultimately led to Gruzgharn's forces besieging the keep and to the warlord's death at thehands of the Fire Wasps. Lurgrak was returned to the Orcish Hordes in an exchange of prisoners at the war's end.   These events, as well as the failures of the orcs in the War of the Broken Chain, caused him great disillusionment with the god-king Laminok Bloodfist. He discovered many other orcs were unhappy with Laminok's rule, and the constant wars they were forced into. When Laminok demanded the Hordes follow the command of Gorthak the Savage in aiding the Five Who Call in their efforts to raise and guide the Tarrasque, Lurgrak cemented his alliance with the other younger orcs and determined they would break away. Knowing they would need allies, he slipped away as their forces approached Worldbreaker's Howe and sought out the allies, asking to speak to the Fire Wasps. He offered to lead his forces in an attack on the orcish flanks and then retreat from the battle if the forces would acknowledge their rights to live in the Orcish Steppes, which they would then defend from other orcs along with the other kingdoms. Although there was uncertainty, the allies agreed.   At the Battle of Worldbreaker's Howe , Lurgrak's people proved true to their word. They attacked Gorthak's forces and then retreated towards the Steppes, preparing to defend the highlands when the orcs retreated. To their relief, Gorthak fled to the coasts, taking the orcs back to Turkhast. Lurgrak is quickly emerging as a savvy political mind, cementing his ascendance over his allies and enemies alike.
