Norton Family

House Norton was a countship and barony of Bay Watch and served House Balor from their familial keep, Widow's Watch. They orginally hail from the mountain tribes of the Broken Spine of Salazar and were renowned as magi-hunters and though their name has been stripped of its glory, many techniques and tools used to track and control rogue mages that belonged to House Norton are still used today. The Nortons were supporters of House Talan during the Lost Emperor Uprising, but they kept their alligences under wraps, secretly ferrying supplies and funding to the allies of the Twentieth Emperor, Igus Talan V. They would scave through the conflict and their true loyalties were never discovered by the new Volker Emperor or the other Salvan Houses. The Nortons, however, made an attempt to usurp House Balor during the The Salvae Revolution and revealed their true loyalties to the Talan rulership. They however would be undermined by a young Zaiqine Fire Soul, a Tiefling that lived harshly under their thumb due to her arcane affinities.

The Nortons were well-known for their magi-hunting techniques, but also the tools they developed and mastered for their craft.

Disbandment

House Norton was stripped of ranks, lands, and titles at the conclusion of the The Salvae Revolution by House Balor. These were awarded to a newly established House Fire Soul with the blessing of the Thirty-fourth Emperor, Aron Volker. There were a fair number of Nortons that bent the knee to the victorious Volker Loyalists, but the house has fallen from glory and any and all semblance of respect, now their descendants live moderately normal lives, though no one forgets the name.
