Kentear Peninsula
The Duchy of Bute governs northern Mithlerien's Kentear Peninsula. It stretches around thirty miles between the Mull of Kentear and Evertou Loch and borders the area of Napdale at its western end.
Kentear is long and narrow, with a maximum width of approximately eleven miles shrinking to a mere two miles near its confluence with Napdale. The Kelbrin Sound runs along the south side of the Kentear Peninsula, which is characterized by a series of coastal peaks that rise from the sea. There is a significant quantity of moorland in the peninsula's center, where Turnkey Mount, at 1,500 feet, is the highest point. The soil is highly fertile along the coast.
The earliest Mithlerieners came from Briarra and some settled in this area, making it one of the first areas inhabited by the ancestors of Mithlerien's current majority ethnicity. The banished Kenku of the Iegleanian Peninsula colonized the area in the early 500s, and some of their descendants still live there.
