Slann Lord Desserex Character in Warhammer Fantasy, Scale Universe | World Anvil

Slann Lord Desserex

Desserex is a Slann of the fourth generation. He was originally the Slann in charge of Klodorex before the Great Cataclysm. At the time, Klodorex was considered an relatively unimportant posting though Desserex did not mind.   After the Great Cataclysm, Desserex willingly submitted to the leadership of Slann Lord Merestar and became his lieutenant. Desserex had no problem with playing second fiddle to Merestar, as he respected Merestar and agreed with him on most things.   After the Fall of Turochlitan, 1,206 words sent Merestar into a lengthy coma, Lord Desserex became the de facto ruler of Klodorex. Desserex had no problem taking this task on, but he chose to rule the Kahoun as a traditional Slann and not mimic the hands-on approach of Lord Merestar. Lord Desserex delegated nearly all of the day-to-day operations of Klodorex to the ranking Skinks.   In attempting to advance Merestars vision, but putting his own spin on it, Dessserex masterminded the efforts to manipulate the vampire Lord Renliss. He figured using one of the Fallen would be a low risk. If Renliss was destroyed it was no real. Also, at least in theory, unlike the humans of Turochlitan, Renliss could not become corrupted because he was already corrupted. This was detailed in the story Count Renliss' Journey to Lustria.   Like all of Klodorex's Slann, Desserex was trapped by an unsolveable riddle for roughly 200 years until freed by the events of the story The Orphaned Temple City. This woke up all the Slann, including Lord Merestar.   Merestar was the Big Frog again, but while Merestar was pursuing his grand plans with gusto, Merestar no longer had the will or energy to focus on day-to-day affairs, so Desserex still holds the mantle of Klodorex's acting manager.   On Merestar's orders, he set up the quest that was the center of the story Divided We Fall.
