To my imzadi,
Parted from me and never parted. Always and never touching and touched. I hope you are well. Though I know you will say that Vulcan's do not experience the same emotional stress that a Betazoid would, I can't imagine the toll that these past few weeks must have taken on you. I desperately wish I could speak to you in person. Though our bond stretches through the lightyears, nothing compares to the feeling on serenity and safety that comes with being in the same space as you, my t'hy'la.
To sooth any concerns you might still have, I am alive and I am well. Though the USS Electra will not win any awards for its aesthetic beauty currently, all systems are functioning normally. Our warp drive has been fully repaired and I am sending this message to you as we are traveling at max warp. Our recent encounter with the Ferengi have made me grateful to the years of diplomacy lessons I was put through. Perhaps Starfleet should require all command track cadets to learn the art of charming your opponent into getting what you want. I believe I may have scandalized the crew a bit by my antics, but I can take the snide comments and the ridiculous rumors because at the end of the day it kept my crew safe, and bought them more time. There has been talk of mutiny on this ship. There are many who believe that they can sit in the command chair and bark out orders better than I can. But alas, they do not fully understand what it means to be a leader. Being a leader does not mean that everyone serves you, but that you serve everyone. I would give my whole self, my life, my soul, my being to protect the ship and the crew. I was prepared to give my whole self, if I must, even though it would have corrupted our bond, the piece of me that I cherish the most.
I am fortunate that it did not come to that, and I hope that it will not ever come to that. If it does, then I hope it will be after we are fully bonded. So I can languish in the strength and tranquility of our bond as the rest of me is ripped away.

The USS Electra had been given orders to investigate the disappearance of the USS Pollux, an Eagle class heavy cruiser, on the edge of federation space. The USS Electra locates the wreckage of the USS Pollux, its hull having been splintered apart into millions of pieces and scattered across several lightyears. As they are investigating, the USS Electra comes under attack by a subspace alien race known as 'The Sythians'. Their ship's speed and weapons systems appear to be more than a match for the Electra, and the crew is forced to perform evasion maneuvers to avoid the same fate as the Pollux. In a bold move by the Sythians, Captain Marcus and Ensign Ailyn are kidnapped and held captive on the Sythian vessel. Ensign Ailyn, who was shadowing the captain for the day as part of a training exercise, is deemed to be useless by the Sythian captures and thrown into a cell to be used as bait if needed. Captain Marcus is dragged off to be interrogated in an attempt to extract federation secrets. By watching crew interactions and sensing their raw emotions, Evrosa was able to identify weaknesses in their security detail and eventually spotted the prime opportunity to escape. She breaks into engineering and covertly steals key information regarding the Sythian's weapons technology. After beaming herself back onboard the Electra, she immediately sought out Commander Hobbs and gave them all of the information that she had stolen. With this information, the Electra is able to reprogram its shields and photon torpedos to target the Sythian's weapons and hull weaknesses. Evrosa's empathic abilities allowed for Commander Hobbs to know exactly when the Sythian's were ready to surrender without completely destroying their ship. After bringing the other ship to the brink of destruction, the USS Electra is able to demand the return of Captain Marcus and their unconditional surrender. The Sythian ship is charged with the destruction of the USS Pollux and the attack on the USS Electra as well as the kidnapping of Captain Marcus and Evrosa. For her efforts during this encounter, Evrosa was promoted from Ensign to Lieutenant Junior Grade.
