People, cultures, and stories span the length and breadth of Gaia. Epic tales of heroes and fantastical tales of victories on am almost global scale. Then there is a small place near the south western coast of Tykera, a place of horror stories....love stories twisted into tragedies, or family members being tricked or forced into being a little closer than recommended. The newest tale such as that is poor Calliope, a massive bomb exploded and the Hive found out the sorcerer's past. True love warped and twisted by the gods themselves, a prophecy found with a pile of papers, a child sold into slavery to protect him from falling in love with his sister.
The revelations about Calliope and Xander hung in the air the entire evening, Morrigan wracking her brain as it did summersaults in her skull. The martial artist trying to deal with true love being twisted and contorted, not only because love was of great interest to her, but the fact that her very Mother was a god of love! Orri help Calliope in a comforting embrace as she toiled with going back and forth whether this was good or bad or both. She rocked her magical friend as a tear or two escaped her eyes, true love was many things, both dramatic and simple it was taking on the world for the person you loved, and it was also finding that person and building a life together, making a family.....poor Willow, the catalyst for a curse. Was turning into a squid such a massive hinderance? Calliope seemed to be alright as a squid, she could do just as much...did Xander also turn into an animal, or was it just Calliope..does it affect both siblings. Siblings...being with your sibling was bad right? but it was true love!....true love is strong and needed...right? "Meria...why?" Morrigan said softly as he stroked Calliope's hair trying to comfort her.
"You don't know who your birth family is, you might have a sibling out there as well." Anaxa's words drifted through Morrigan's memory, could the same thing happen to her? True love..the thing Orri dreamed of for most of her life, to think it could be so warped and twisted. Orri's mind wandered a little as she thought of Drake for a moment, well he isn't a demi-human so he couldn't be my brother....why was THAT important? she thought, it's not like that matters, right? Morrigan's mind looked in on itself, why did she think of Drake so quickly.....
After the reevaluation Morrigan spent the night in the room Zaphyria had made for everyone individually, she spent as much time comforting Calliope as much as she could before the sorcerer finally fell asleep. The martial artist spent the entire night training in her room, trying to get her thoughts straight...well letting her thoughts drift away. Thinking and acting did not go hand in hand for Morrigan. Her stress relief was training, her comfort was training, happy sad or angry was dealt with training. Jumping and sending kicks flying back and forth as she somersaulted while holding a book, she trained whilst also reading her favorite love story "A Knight to Remember." As if to distract herself from being disillusioned by Calliope's story, or she simply wanted to read it again, who knows maybe she just got distracted. Jumping upside down and doing hand stand press ups with one arm as she continued reading, as Anaxa walked past the door stopping and seeing her demi-human friend upside down on one hand. Anaxa is holding a letter and stops looking at Orri, "What are you....you can read upside down? but you can't count to ten?" the hoplite says exasperated. Morrigan looks toward her, "I'm sorry, what did you say?" Anaxa shakes her head, "Nothing nothing, I'm just." Orri sees the letter and smiles, "You wrote someone a letter.........OH! IS IT...?!" Anaxa throws a spear into the wall beside Morrigan's head, "No, it is not a lo...a looov....on of those! It's a note to Calliope." Orri smiles and stays stalwart in her handstand, "That's nice of you, she needs that right now. I hugged her for a good while. I hope sleep will help her, I'm sure your letter will too!" Orri smiles warmly at the hoplite as she continues on her way to Calliope's room.
Maybe mother, or even Auntie Ish could explain this better....make it clearer. Two gods of love in her family and she can't call them directly at the moment, but thankfully there was also a good fight to be had. Now that Morrigan could ignite her life energy and project it into her strikes, she was even more excited and couldn't wait to really test it out, tomorrow was going to be fun. After getting thrashed in the last fight she was keen to try again.
