Scalelings

• Scalelings encompass any number of humanoid species with herpetological or amphibious attributes. • Most Scalelings are able to mate with other species, except Frogkind • Feral varieties of Scalelings, are those that have succumbed to their animalistic instincts through various means. Most often this is due to a remote tribe devolving over the generations, or due to magical curses. Very rarely this is due to them never having evolved beyond their original instincts like their brethren, though there are records of small pockets of unevolved feral scalelings and other beastkin.
All this being said, their general information is the same as their sentient counterparts, and they function in much the same way, except they simply lack true sentience in the traditional sense and are more or less wild animals with more humanoid forms.
Scalelings are one of the few species groups that has faced differeng levels of discrimination throughout history, especially the Serpentkin. Frogkind have faced minor discrimination around their incompatability with other species and Turtlekin have faced cultural discrimintation surrounding their percieved cultural incompatability with the culture of The People at large.
