Frost Rivers War
Frost Rivers War is the name of the conflict between the two families of Medvidev and Kell. It began when the Kells started taxing Siv river ships and the Great Jarl of Norveil declared the city in open rebellion. The war was first faught by Rodgier I Medvidev until his fall in the First Battle of Northflow River. His sister Alshlyn I Medvidev took up the crown and eventually finished the war with the Burning of Jardal Hall.
The Conflict
Prelude
It began early in 1153 when Ordin Kell of Karak began taxing boats coming down from Siv. Great Jarl Rodgier I, sent the army to supress taxation at the docks of Karak, when the city watch began to fight on the side of the taxers at the docks the Great Jarl declared the city in open rebellion.
The Engagement
Major Events
- First Battle of Northflow River -- He first sent 10,000 troops west to Karak and fought with Kell forces on the outskirts of town. The Great Jarl was either winning or bringing skirmishes to a draw, until the First Battle of Northflow River where Great Jarl Rodgier I died and had his body desecrated.
- Northflow Battles -- Series of battles between Great Jarl Alshlyn I Medvidev and Jarl Ordin Kell. Battles that, over the months and years, saw the Kell armies victorious. The new Great Jarl was losing soldiers and ground as her armies were pushed back toward the city of Siv, when a message come from Jarl Ordin, "She'd Lost. Peace for Marriage". She agreed.
- Burning of Jardal Hall -- War ending event where, after receiving a peace and marriage proposal from Jarl Ordin, Alshlyn I Medvidev killed Ordin Kell with her wyvernbone hilted dagger in Jardal Hall and commenced burning the church until the Kell Family surrendered.
Outcome
When Jarl Alshlyn I found herself losing the war she agreed to marry Lord Kell and cease the fighting. On their wedding day she had her reserve troops attack the city, and she stabbed him in Jardal Hall and threatened to burn the place down in an event known as the Burning of Jardal Hall that set the roof on fire. The rest of the Kell Family backed down pleading for her to not harm the Hall.
